It looks like Marvel has another winner on its hands with the upcoming sequel to 2014’s hugely successful Guardians of the Galaxy.

Just released on Dec 3 at the Comic-Con Experience 2016 in São Paulo, Brazil, the teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 racked up 81 million views in 24 hours, making it the biggest teaser debut for a Marvel film and second biggest teaser trailer in Disney history, coming in just behind the recently released teaser trailer for the live action remake of Beauty and the Beast. That film stars Emma Watson, so it gets Hermione numbers.

The new Guardians of the Galaxy 2 teaser trailer features the return of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel reprising their roles as Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot. Sorry, we mean baby Groot. We love baby Groot. Who wouldn’t? He’s super cute, doesn’t talk much, and can still be a badass when necessary. He’s like the Muppet Babies with an edge.

Director James Gunn will also be returning for the second installment and has already thanked fans on his Facebook page for viewing the teaser trailer. Writing “Did I mention we debuted on a Saturday when you’re NEVER EVER supposed to debut anything?,” Gunn also pointed out that in addition to breaking Marvel’s record, the song “Fox on the Run” by Sweet, which is featured in the teaser, has hit number one on the iTunes Rock Chart.

The first Guardians of the Galaxy was a surprising box office smash, becoming the highest grossing superhero film of 2014 with $773.3 million in ticket sales worldwide. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will hit theatres on May 5, 2017, and undoubtedly break a few more records on its way to the box office.
