Han Solo is officially going solo. The galactic powers that be at Lucasfilm announced yesterday afternoon that the captain of the Millenium Falcon will be getting his own spinoff film. We don’t know about you, but we’re excited. Not as excited as we were when that last trailer for Star Wars VII came out (Remember that? Go watch it again!), but pretty excited.

Following up rumours that several stand-alone Star Wars spinoffs are heading our way in the not so distant future, Lucasfilm announced that the first one will be a Han Solo origin story. Yup, we’re gonna get to find out exactly how Corellia’s most famous smuggler came to be.

Lucasfilm also confirmed that the gents who made The Lego Movie and both Jump Street films, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, will be the Han Solo filmmakers.

So who should play Han? Chris Pratt? Aaron Paul? Someone unknown like Harrison Ford was when he took the role? It should be interesting.

The movie is set for release on May 25, 2018.
