If you’re anything like us and you love jamming out with some of your favourite The Voice judges each and every week, well you’ll probably also be just as excited as we are about this news.
The Voice has been renewed for not one, but two more seasons, meaning that we’re going to get a double dose of the show after this current 11th season wraps up. What’s more, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine will carry on as coaches in Season 12, meaning there is endless bromance in store.
But there’s even better news. Our favourite celeb couple, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, will be reunited too. That’s right, Stefani is returning as a coach next season, meaning that we’ll all get to see the couple interact every single week on the show where they first met. Can we start some sort of drinking game or cuteness alert hashtag now? Because we have a feeling that watching them onscreen together again is just going to make us love them even more.
Rounding out the list of Season 12 coaches is current coach Alicia Keys, who will return for another round. That means Miley Cyrus will sit out a whole season before returning for the 13th installment. That’s pretty cool, huh? Seriously though, it actually is pretty cool that she’s returning because we dig her unique style on the show — especially when she puts Levine in his place. As of right now she’s actually the only coach confirmed for that season though, but since Shelton and Levine have never sat a season out, our fingers are crossed for their return, too.
In fact this news pretty much proves to us that The Voice is here to stay, at least for another year if not more. Who knew that one day we’d be more obsessed with this show than we were with American Idol? Now if only we could get The Voice Canada. With all the same coaches at the helm, naturally.
