Whether or not you’re a fan of the reality competition America’s Got Talent, there’s a good chance you’re going to be a fan of contestant Grace VanderWaal.
The 12-year-old singing phenom has been consistently stealing the show weekly, with each performance, quickly being dubbed by judge Simon Cowell as ‘the next Taylor Swift.’
With a voice that sounds about three decades older than her actual age, VanderWaal has continually wowed the judges and viewers, securing her the closing spot on last night’s finale. Not only has the young ukulele player impressed the world with her voice, she’s also a gifted songwriter, a talent she’s displayed all season, including the finale.
Vanderwaal debuted her new song “Clay” last night; another impressive addition to the line up of originals she’s already performed this season, including “I Don’t Know My Name,” “Beautiful Thing” and “Light The Sky.”
This seasons’ winner, who will take home a $1 million grand prize and a two-day performance slot at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, will be announced tonight. We have a feeling that even if Grace’s name isn’t called, we’re still going to be hearing a lot more from the young musician in the future. Bring on the feels, Grace.
Just a reminder of how impressive this kid is, here’s Grace’s audition, where she says winning would be a ‘miracle.’ Eh, not so much.
