Planning a wedding is stressful enough, but throw in divorced parents and their significant others and some feathers just might get ruffled. Involving stepparents can often be a delicate situation, whether they get along or not. It’s tricky.

Ohio dad Todd Bachman made it easier for everyone during his daughter, Brittany Peck’s wedding. He was about to walk Brittany down the aisle when he suddenly stopped and walked over to her stepfather, Todd Cendrosky.

The couple’s photographer, Delia D. Blackburn, told BuzzFeed News that the guests weren’t sure what was happening. “Everyone was a little bit concerned because there had been tension,” she explained. But, instead, the most amazing thing happened.

Bachman grabbed Cendrosky and asked him if he would help him walk Peck down the aisle.

“I think he said something along the lines of ‘You helped raise her,'” Blackburn said, adding that there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. “The groom was extremely happy. The bride, she was in tears because this was a little bit of a struggle for her.”

Blackburn decided to share the photos and the family’s story to her Facebook page. And we’re glad she did. The looks on everyone’s faces. We can’t even.

It’s such an inspiring story that many who are living similar lives struggle with every day. This is what love is all about.
