What does it take to become the Sexiest Man Alive? According to this year’s People Magazine honouree, one really big cheat day that includes 3 to 5 helpings of the same meal and a TV marathon. We think they need to reconsider this year’s winner, because we’ve been sticking to that “diet” plan for years.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was recently named this year’s winner of People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive title and for good reason. The former wrestler turned movie star has one of the most chiseled bodies, megawatt smiles and inspiring attitudes we’ve ever seen in Hollywood. And trust us, we’ve done our research.

Becoming the Sexiest Man Alive takes a lot of work, dedication and sweat, but according to a new interview with People Magazine, Johnson admits it also takes one indulgent cheat day every week.

In one of the most refreshing takes on health and fitness we’ve heard in a while, Johnson says that it’s okay to indulge sometimes. The fitness enthusiast explains that he saves all of his ‘gluttony’ each week and binges on 3 to 5 of the same cheat meals in one sitting, pairing these meals with TV marathons. “So I have this rule in the house and I drive everybody crazy. One is none. One is none. Get two, three, four, five of it, just a whole bunch and just lay it all out. Big cheat meals,” he says. “Like okay, what shows are we watching tonight? What crime shows are we watching? And then I have these cheat meals and that’s my vice.”

The star of the upcoming Disney animated film Moana and the remakes of Baywatch and Jumanji lists pancakes, burgers, brownies and cookies as just a few of his go-to cheat foods.

But before you start canceling your gym membership and stocking up on Aunt Jemima, a quick scroll through Johnson’s Instagram account reminds us that the actor spends most days getting up at 3 a.m. to hit the gym for 2 to 3 hour workouts. So for those rest of us, maybe just stick to eating in moderation with a few cheats here and there.

345am wake ups for the next 3 days for our big @underarmour #RockCollection photo shoot campaign. UA will shoot my entire training session daily. When it comes to our partnership with UA and these photo shoots, I will never shoot anything that’s “set up or polished”. No fake background set ups or fake working out just for the sake of the photo shoot. Just me, my wrist wraps, my hand chalk for grip strength and a UA photographer who follows me while I jack iron. I don’t f*ck around when it comes to what we sell to you guys. If myself and @underarmour are delivering it it you, then you know I’m sweating in it daily cause it means something very personal to me. And clearly I wanted to use up the whole 60 seconds in this vid cause I’m trying to buy more rest time in between sets. Old school trick I learned years ago;). And finally, THANK YOU for making every #RockCollection we’ve dropped the #1 SELLER in the company. Under Armour and my team are extremely GRATEFUL you’re motivated and inspired to chase your greatness in our gear. #RockCollection #1 #Welcome2TheDungeon #HardestWorkersInTheRoom #UA #WeWill #345AmWakeUps #Geeeeezus #OurAnchor⚓️
