Kylie Jenner’s lip collections have been flying off the shelves. But not all Kylie Cosmetics customers have been happy customers.
According to the Better Business Bureau (BBB)–it’s never good when they have to get involved–the 18-year-old’s company is flunking out big time.
Not only has Kylie’s makeup line received a whopping 137 complaints since launching in September 2015, but it was given a failing grade–like, actually an “F”–by the BBB. Which is, in case you don’t remember from your omfg-I-can’t-do-this trigonometry days, the worst grade you can receive.
Of the complaints, 55 people were disappointed in the product itself (70 reported issues with actually receiving their product in the first place). And that’s just the people who took the time to file a report to the BBB. Based on the Twitter reaction, we’re pretty certain there must be more.
Makeup artist and internet celeb Jeffree Star (who has a Twitter following of 662,000, and a cosmetic line that boasts 2 million followers over on Insta) publically shamed the product, calling out the lip kit’s seriously bent-out-of-shape brushes. Ick.

Over on Youtube, vlogger Kendall Alfred spent an entire 22 minutes highlighting the pitfalls of the product—hers arrived nearly empty in addition to the brushes being bent out of shape. (Watch it all if you want, but she basically says the kits don’t cut it.)
The evidence seems to suggest that this is a bad buy, ladies, despite the fact that they keep selling out. (Ah, the Jenner/Kardashian craze lives on.) So hop on the trend and pick up a lip kit if you must—just don’t come crying to us when it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to. (Hint: nothing is going to make your lips look like Kylie’s unless you opt for fillers).
If you do need a sentimental ear to complain to, we hear the BBB is taking calls.
