Although die-hard foodies, home cooks and meatatarians might disagree, there is a way to cook succulent salty strips of oh-so-good bacon without pulling out a pan or firing up the oven.
It involves — are you ready for it? — a microwave.
Not only will this neat little trick get that drool-worthy bacon quickly on to your plate to keep your eggs company, it’ll taste pretty darn good once it gets there too. So lower the (pitch)fork and remember: everything’s going to be OK. After all, bacon is involved.
What you do
To start off, line a plate with three pieces of paper towel.
Instead of laying the bacon flat across, roll them up so they form a blossom-shape and stand up on their own.
Once all of your strips of bacon have been rolled, cover them with another piece of paper towel and a paper plate.
Pop the plate into the microwave for 3 minutes, then flip over the bacon blossoms. Place them back in to the microwave, and let them heat for an additional 90 seconds.
Hear the ding? Thank goodness, they’re ready! Enjoy your beautiful side (oh, who are we kidding? your entire breakfast) of bacon.
