Quick show of hands: how many of you know what’s in your tampons? Probably not a lot of you. Well, there’s a lot of plastic and sometimes chemicals, and given that it’s literally going in your vagina, it’s probably high time you chose something a little bit, um, friendlier.
We’ve discovered LOLA tampons, a subscription-based tampon delivery service (one box is $13) that sells 100 per cent hypoallergenic cotton tampons, which are BPA, chemical, synthetic and dye-free. They’re 100 per cent biodegradable and available in light, heavy and super, for all of your menstruation needs. And if all of that isn’t making your aunt flo shout hallelujah, the packaging itself is actually quite chic. There aren’t any daisies or bursts of pink. It’s modern, and something you could even contemplate displaying on your counter during a dinner party or a one-night stand (but then again, to each their own).
