If you’re ever looking for a little piece of home in a country far, far away, we know the perfect place for you to check out.

Introducing Peggy’s Cove, Thailand. Complete with wharves, colourful homes and even an iconic lighthouse, this place is sure to ward off any homesickness you might feel while traversing the other side of the planet. Plus, it really captures the quaint, peaceful vibe of the Canadian fishing city.

Located about 225 km east of Bangkok, the resort features 38 rooms that are all tucked into individual fishing shacks. Except they’re a lot more luxurious than the ones you’d find in the real Peggy’s Cove. Beautiful hardwood floors, Jacuzzis, private balconies and more await you inside.

If you still find yourself craving some Canada after checking in, try the food. Lobster, shrimp, oysters–our mouths are practically watering just thinking about some of the menu items this place serves up (although there’s no mention of donairs, which we see as a bit of a miss).

You can even visit the “iconic” Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse, which doubles as a café:

The best part is, there are no slippery rocks for tourists to worry about. Rooms start at around $100 per night (CAD) and there’s still much availability for the summer season. You can have a look at the bookings page right here.

And just in case you wanted to compare, here’s what the real Peggy’s Cove looks like:

As awesome as Thailand’s version is, nothing beats the real thing.
