Someone better turn that grill down, because Burger King just got burned.

Last week, Wendy’s did something that began innocently enough. The fast-food chain posted a tweet promoting its “4 for $4” combo.

Four items for four bucks is a pretty good deal, after all. It was definitely worth promoting and everything. But things quickly went from “warm” to “sear” after Burger King responded with its own value deal, which featured an extra item (a chocolate chip cookie) for the same price.

Can you say “shots fired”?

But Wendy’s wasn’t about to take no s–t from the King, and so the company served up a line that was “well done” indeed.
