Do you ever find yourself fixated on something so simple but so captivating, like ripples on a calm lake or the flickering flames of a fire? Well, watching these Barbie dolls get their done is kind of like that.

Rafinha Silva is the hair wizard responsible for doing the dolls’ locks into silky perfect creations. The Brazilian artist has been handcrafting custom dolls for clients since 2013, each one with an epic mane of hair.

Some long and wavy:

Some curly and full:

Others rainbow:

To achieve the looks, Silva removes the doll’s original hair, applies new makeup, and then preps her head to receive one of his handmade micro wigs.

You can watch the process take place here:

We’re transfixed.

Yes, it’s completely normal to feel envious of a plastic toy’s hair. Silva makes their hair so thick and silky–it’s what #hairgoals are made of!

Other times, Silva will keep the original hair, but add colour. Here, he reveals the steps to an ombre ’do:

“My first inspiration was to create a doll with the characteristics of the singer Amy Winehouse,” Silva told Cosmopolitan. “I loved the experience of being able to customize, and I wanted to be able to continue producing more and more pieces.”

He’s created over 500 custom dolls since starting his career, including handful of recognizable faces like Britney Spears:

Khloe Kardashian:

And Ariel:

Silva’s dolls are stunning works of art, and it’s hard to stop scrolling through his Insta account to inspect each one. If you feel like you haven’t gotten enough, head on over to @welovetheroyaldolls for more perfectly coiffed distractions.
