All hail the classic Canadian beverage that is the mighty Caesar. A perfect blend of clam and tomato juices, mixed together with vodka and the garnishes of your choice. It goes without saying that the classic concoction is a staple of any Canadian summer, but next time you’re hankering for a savoury sipper, why not try one these tasty twists instead? We guarantee you’ll be left wondering why you never tried them sooner.

Classic Caesar

INGREDIENTS

  • highball glass
  • 1 oz. vodka
  • 2 dashes Frank’s Hot Sauce or Tabasco
  • 3 dashes freshly ground salt and pepper
  • 4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 oz. Clamato juice
  • celery salt
  • celery stick
  • lime or lemon wedges
  • ice

METHOD

  1. Using the lime or lemon wedge, rim the edge of the glass with juice. Turn glass upside down and coat rim with celery salt.
  2. Fill glass with ice. Pour in vodka, hot sauce, salt and pepper, and Worcestershire sauce and top with Clamato juice.
  3. Add celery stick and lime or lemon wedge to garnish, then enjoy!

Pickled Caesar

INGREDIENTS

  • highball glass
  • 1 oz. gin
  • 2 dashes Frank’s Hot Sauce or Tabasco
  • 3 dashes salt and pepper
  • 4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 oz. Clamato juice
  • cucumber stick
  • lemon wedge
  • sliced pickle
  • ice

METHOD

  1. Using the lemon wedge, rim the edge of the glass with juice. Turn glass upside down and coat rim with ground salt and pepper.
  2. Fill glass with ice. Pour in gin, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce and salt and pepper and top with Clamato juice.
  3. Garnish with sliced pickle and cucumber stick twist, then enjoy!

El Gringo

INGREDIENTS

  • highball glass
  • 1 oz. tequila
  • 1 oz. Cointreau
  • 2 dashes Frank’s Hot Sauce or Tabasco
  • 3 dashes freshly ground salt and pepper
  • 4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 oz. Clamato juice
  • chorizo
  • lime and lemon wedges
  • green bean
  • ice

METHOD

  1. Using the lime or lemon wedge, rim the edge of the glass with juice. Turn glass upside down and coat rim with salt and pepper.
  2. Fill glass with ice. Pour in tequila, Cointreau, hot sauce, salt and pepper, and Worcestershire sauce and top with Clamato juice.
  3. Garnish with slice of Chorizo, lime and lemon wedges, and green bean, then enjoy!

Old-timey Caesar

INGREDIENTS

  • highball glass
  • 2 oz. whisky
  • 1 dash Frank’s Hot Sauce or Tabasco
  • salt and pepper
  • 6 oz. Clamato juice
  • 6-8 fresh sage leaves
  • 2 dashes aromatic bitters
  • cherry tomatoes
  • pearl onions
  • lemon wedge
  • wooden skewer
  • ice

METHOD

  1. Using the lemon wedge, rim the edge of the glass with juice. Turn glass upside down and coat rim with ground salt and pepper.
  2. Fill glass with ice. Pour in whisky, hot sauce and bitters and top with Clamato juice.
  3. Assemble garnish by placing cherry tomatoes, pearl onions and extra sage leaves onto the wooden skewer. Place in drink and enjoy!

Tequila Caesar-rise

INGREDIENTS

  • highball glass
  • 1 oz. tequila
  • 1 oz. freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 dashes Frank’s Hot Sauce or Tabasco
  • 2 dashes freshly ground sea salt
  • 4 oz. Clamato juice
  • orange twist and orange wedge
  • ice

METHOD

  1. Using the orange wedge, rim the edge of the glass with juice. Turn glass upside down and coat rim with ground sea salt.
  2. Fill glass with ice. Pour in tequila, orange juice, sea salt and hot sauce and top with Clamato juice.
  3. Garnish with orange twist and wedge, then enjoy!

Meal-in-a-glass Caesar

INGREDIENTS

  • highball glass
  • 1 oz. vodka
  • 1/2 tsp Frank’s Hot Sauce or Tabasco
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 oz. Clamato juice
  • 3 dashes salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp antipasto
  • 2 tsp real lime juice and lime wedge
  • paprika
  • wooden skewer
  • bocconcini cheese
  • 1 slice prosciutto, folded
  • 1 stuffed chili pepper
  • 1 cherry tomato
  • 1 olive
  • 1 piece of shrimp
  • ice

METHOD

  1. Using the lime wedge, rim the edge of the glass with juice. Turn glass upside down and coat rim with paprika and freshly ground salt.
  2. Fill glass with ice. Pour in vodka, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper, antipasto and lime juice and top with Clamato juice.
  3. Assemble garnish by placing bocconcini cheese, prosciutto, pepper, tomato, olive and shrimp onto the wooden skewer. Place in drink and enjoy!
