It’s not every day that science is asked to chime in on beauty. But Samsung did ask, commissioning doctors at the UK’s Kent University to determine which facial characteristics are associated with the height of beauty in men and women.
One hundred participants were asked to use software used by British police to create “e-fits” or digital sketches that reflected their own views of what makes a face worth looking at. Normally this software is utilized to hunt down wanted criminals, but this time the challenge was a bit prettier. Once the drawings were collected, 100 more participants were asked to rate and comment on the faces compiled.
Once the doctors crunched the data (eyebrow shape, curvature of the nose and more), and reviewed which celebrities participants found appealing (Natalie Portman topped the list), they had their perfect visages. The outcome is what you see above: two blushing faces with dark, brunette hair.
As you can see, according to this study, the woman looks a lot like Kendall Jenner, Leigh Lezark or Selma Blair.
While the perfect man appears to look a bit like Adam Levine.
It’s science, so there’s always a margin for error. And these are British people, so perhaps you have a different idea of what makes the perfect man or woman? Let us know in the comments below!
