We adore sky-high heels — they lengthen the leg, add inches to our height and make just about any outfit look pretty damn sexy. But the pain, oh the pain! If we could make it through an entire day in a pair of stilettos we’d surely earn a medal. Maybe even a Nobel Prize. Thankfully, there’s no need to suffer for style now that Tanya Heath, a Canadian ex-pat living in Paris, has developed a fabulous line of shoes that lets you change heels, from high to low, at the click of a button.
What It Is
When Heath (who owns 400 pairs of shoes) started working in France, she wore flats and then changed into heels at the office. Her colleagues were most unimpressed, “We don’t do that in Paris, you have to choose: flat or heel,” so she chose heels. As Tanya told CTV’s Canada AM, “I did my three pregnancies in a high heel, I did my life in a high heel and I destroyed my feet.” After unsuccessfully searching high and low for stylish, comfortable shoes, she designed her own. Tanya Heath Paris now offers 40 styles of shoes and four heel heights (from 4.5 cm to 8.5 cm) in a whopping 90 different designs that you can mix and match at a whim.
Why We Love It
If there’s such a thing as the perfect shoe, this is it. 14 engineers spent over two years on research and development so each pair is long-lasting and wobble-free. The made-in-France heels are easily changeable by clicking a small button inside the shoe, and with so many designs to choose from, the possibilities are endless. Although the price may seem a bit extravagant, they’re worth every penny because each pair is made from quality leather and materials that will last a lifetime.
Doing the school run then heading to a meeting? Slide off your sturdy Christophe Trotter and slide-on a chunky Denis Cuban in dark red or marinière stripes. A night on the town positively screams for the studded, glittery Francois Punk stilettos. One day, three chic looks and nary a blister. Someone give the girl a medal.
