Most people have stretch marks. If you’ve ever fluctuated in weight, your skin stretches. That’s just a fact of life. And in those areas that are expanding and shrinking, those little marks are going to appear whether you like it or not. So, why not like ’em?
Stretch marks are so often affiliated with pregnancy, but belly stretch marks aren’t the only kind: You can have them on your arms, your knees, your calves, thighs, butt and pretty much anywhere your skin changes form.
The video above shows a group of women who acknowledge and accept their stretch marks. Now, they haven’t always loved them: One woman says, “I’ve never been ashamed or embarrassed of my skin, but it felt like I had scars I didn’t want on me.” While another says, “I thought only women that were pregnant got stretch marks.”
After discussing their earliest feelings about the whole thing, we learn how these women grew to love their marks. Because really, they’re part of you. So, why not embrace them?
