It's no secret that Nick Carter and Aaron Carter have never been the closest of brothers but things have taken quite a turn and the men's relationship might never recover. Nick revealed that he filed a restraining order against his brother after Aaron reportedly threatened to kill his "pregnant wife and unborn child." Whoa.It all started on the weekend when police arrived at Aaron's home to detain him on a psychiatric hold but convinced them he was neither a danger to himself or others. The singer told TMZ on Monday that he informed authorities that he had loaded weapons in the house but had no intention of surrendering the vast collection. When asked about his mental health and whether or not his bipolar disorder was disclosed on the application, TMZ also reported Aaron got "super defensive" and said he's not bipolar (which, technically, he isn't). But he did recently open up about his mental health and what he's going through is pretty awful. If you recall, Aaron appeared on The Doctors where he showed off a baggie full of meds he's been prescribed (everything from Xanax, Seroquel, gabapentin, hydroxyzine, trazodone, and omeprazole) for his numerous mental health diagnoses, which include multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia and acute anxiety. He also admitted he's manic depressive but not bipolar so it's no wonder he got a little frustrated with TMZ. But Aaron has since claimed the show was edited to look like he was diagnosed with several mental disorders but producers for The Doctors told TMZ it "was not edited in any way." But Nick isn't taking his brother's mental health and penchant for guns lightly. In fact, Nick — along with his sister (and Aaron's twin) Angel — felt they had no choice but to get a restraining order against their brother and his alleged threats. Needless to say, Aaron wasn't exactly impressed with the restraining order and shared his feelings on Twitter as well. According to Aaron, Nick filed the restraining order because he sided with Nick's rape accusers. The consensus on Twitter is that the brothers should've kept all this private and between themselves instead of sharing their personal troubles with the world. Aaron has documented mental illnesses and he's still allowed to buy and own guns, disturbing in its own right, and it's understandable if Nick and Lauren and Angel don't feel safe. Us Weekly added that officers visited his Florida home four times in 34 hours back in 2017 for gun and safety concerns. This isn't Aaron's first brush with the law. In 2008, he was arrested after he was pulled over for speeding and cops found marijuana in the car. In 2017, Aaron was arrested for a DUI and marijuana possession. The singer did check himself into rehab in 2017 after dropping to 115 pounds and hitting "rock bottom personally and emotionally," he received treatment for both his mental and physical health. He was diagnosed with PTSD due to the deaths of both his father and sister Leslie, but was just happy that he "came out on the other side." Here's hoping the entire family can one day say that.
