Who says those millennials are all useless? For navigating this crazy world, it’s almost taboo to have a birth date after 1985 right now. Millennials are constantly criticized for their reliance on technology, lack of real-world skills and materialistic tendencies. Well, put your stereotypes aside for a minute because this little boy could teach us all a thing or two about living in the world.
Nyeeam Hudson is only ten years-old but he speaks like he’s been on the planet a lot longer than that. Recently, a video of him reacting to a bullying incident on the playground made the rounds online. In the video he talks about some kids who made fun of his FILA sneakers which Hudson notes is a pretty shallow thing to make fun of someone for. He goes on to say that what’s important is not what’s on his feet, but in his head and urges parents not to raise their children to be materialistic ‘because once they don’t have Jordans on or cool clothes, they’re going to feel like they’re not important.’
Wow. This kid could give Donald Trump a lesson or two on public speaking. As it turns out, this is nothing new for Hudson. Not only is he an award-winning motivational speaker, he is currently trying to fund his first children’s book. As his GoFundMe page states, the book will be aimed at young boys and called We Are All Kings, focusing on the ‘king potential’ in everyone and on boosting self-esteem. There is a similar book–We are Queens–in the works too. Feel unaccomplished yet?
Hudson’s Instagram is full of positive messages and inspiring lessons. It’s pretty hard to believe he’s only got ten years of actual life experience. He seems far wiser (and a lot more articulate) than many of the adults we know, that’s for sure. It’s great to see little rays of positivity and encouragement are still making their way through all the negativity.
Check out his Instagram for a daily dose of inspiration and happiness.
