How much do you love hamburgers? Cheeseburgers? How about specialty “sandwiches” involving meat patties on burger buns? The real question is do you love them enough to get a life-sized tattoo of one on your body?

That’s the question Melbourne, Australia’s Cafe 51 is asking its loyal customers this week. The restaurant, which is known for its extreme burgers, has put out a challenge to consumers: tattoo your favourite burger from the eatery — including the logo — on your body, and receive that burger for free once a day, every day, for the rest of your life.

Now that’s what we call commitment — both to your stomach and to your body.

The rules very clearly state that the tattoo must be life-sized, so any Aussies out there hoping to get away with a cute little mini burger on the back of their shoulder or somewhere similar should give up now.

Even for the tattoo-happy it’s not as simple as it sounds. According to the official rules, only 10 people will actually win this contest, and they need to be pre-approved by the company before they can physically win even a sesame from a bun.

For now, we know that at least two people have taken up the challenge and that more are following suit thanks to some prompting on social media from the company.

Obviously, in addition to getting the actual tattoos, you have to agree to let the restaurant use photos of the tattoo as well. Because, well… duh. This is clearly something they’re doing to rouse up publicity. And it seems to be working.

Would you commit to a tattoo like this in order to get a free burger every day? Could you even eat a burger every day? As delicious as these offerings look, that just sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen. We mean… imagine your favourite burger was the MILF (“A whole Juicy Lucy burger — yes bun and all — double battered and deep fried until crispy”) or the MeatAxe (“Beef patty, crispy southern style fried chicken, bacon, double american cheddar, onion straws, two jalapeno poppers, lettuce. Housemade chipotle and XXX BBQ sauce”).

Hey, maybe meat sweats is kind of your thing. Either way, free food is always a plus in our books. It just depends on how much you’re willing to commit in order to get it. So… to tattoo or not to tattoo? That’s the question in Melbourne today.
