Weddings are a time to celebrate the love, trust and acceptance between two people – or maybe three? One Australian bride was shocked to find out the night before her wedding day that her husband-to-be had been cheating on her with another woman – and read out his scandalous texts for their entire families to hear! And she didn’t just do it at the altar – she waited until the wedding vows to reveal his affair to everyone in the room.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
The groom promptly left the room without speaking a word, with the best man following closely behind. The couple was together for six years prior to their engagement, and when the affair was found out the woman says she “burst into shamed and broken tears”, but that she was “too shocked and sad to be angry”. The screenshots were sent by an anonymous number to her phone, with the haunting message “I wouldn’t marry him. Will you?”
Instead of calling the whole thing off like her bridesmaids suggested, she took that long walk down the aisle, and began her vows by saying “It seems Alex is not who I thought he was”. She read out texts from him to his lover that included beautifully written lines like, “I miss you so much, I can’t stop thinking about f***king you… I’ve never had this kind of connection before.” Afterwards, the bride still partied with those in attendance – sans Groom – as a “celebration of honesty, finding true love and following your heart even when it hurts”.
Was this a good idea or a cruel performance?
