The government is advising all Canadians to avoid non-essential travel to the Chinese province where the Coronavirus outbreak originated, but for one Ontario man and his family, Wuhan is home.Wayne Duplessis, his wife Emily and their son Wyatt are holed up in their house, as Wuhan is one of the 20 Chinese cities under a total lockdown. According to Wayne, Chinese authorities have told people not to leave their homes or gather in groups, though people are still allowed to leave on foot to pick up essentials. Wayne's family have only left their home a few times to get groceries. The main concern among foreign citizens living in Wuhan, as per Wayne, is whether or not to leave—something that has been made really difficult with the city's lockdown on transit. Not wanting to risk spreading the virus to healthcare workers in Canada, Wayne and his family have decided to stay in Wuhan, despite reports the Canadian government is preparing a plane to evacuate Canadians in the province.Wayne hopes to raise awareness about the ongoing situation in Wuhan, and is raising money to bring in resource donations.
