If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that kids love to express themselves creatively. Whether it’s by drawing, through song or drama, or some other awesomely crafty project, kids love to let their inner artist out. Now kids can get creative two ways — for the price of one.
Picture This, which was started by mom of two Jaimee Newberry, turns children’s drawings into actual clothing they can wear. She came up with the brilliant idea after sewing a dress her daughter drew, and witnessing it become a hit with everyone who saw it.
How does it work? Well, the process is as simple as online shopping. Go to the Picture This website, choose a size, and print out a colouring sheet (currently it’s only dresses). Let your kid draw whatever comes to their amazing little mind and once she/he is done, you send a photo of the completed drawing back to Picture This. A couple weeks later, the dress will arrive in the mail (international orders included!) and your child’s work of art just became high fashion.
Simple and brilliant. And there’s also an option to order a matching dress for 11- or 18-inch dolls. Fun!
As for other clothing options, Newberry posted on Facebook that because hers was a new idea, she wanted to “start small and focused” and “get it right.” Considering the announcement of their recent launch crashed their website, we’d say Picture This is off to a beautiful start. We can’t wait for more items like T-shirts, leggings, track pants, pyjamas and more.
