It’s been four years (two months, two weeks and a handful of hours, but who’s counting?) since Katie Holmes proved how much game she had, filing for divorce from Tom Cruise in the biggest blindside this side of reality television. She was a mama bear not to be trifled with, getting herself and daughter Suri out of an unhappy marriage, and she was reportedly willing to do and sign anything to make it happen. Which, according to Radar, is exactly what she did.
According to the report, her divorce settlement forbids her from discussing Cruise, his religion or her dating life. In fact, Radar‘s source goes one step further and states that Holmes can’t officially date until 2017. Which could explain why Katie and Jamie Foxx have never “officially” come out as a couple.
“Katie signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce,” the source claimed.
“She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri,” the insider added. “Katie wanted out of the marriage so badly, she agreed to the terms — and got $4.8 million in child support, plus another $5 million for herself.”
What we heard? That as of June 29, 2017, Katie and Jamie, who have reportedly been together since 2013, can walk out of her Chelsea apartment, hand-in-hand. He might sling his arm around her, she might give him a peck on the cheek, whatever their mode of public affection, we will happily take it. And the bonus? Katie can also say anything and everything she wants about Tom and Sci once the five years is up, though we think Holmes will remain mum, as will Foxx.
So, 10 months, two weeks and one day before all this could go down. But, again, who’s counting?
