Halloween may be over for the year, but the story of what one dad did to make his daughter’s Halloween extra special will last for a lifetime.

What’s a kid to do when they’re stuck on a flight during the greatest day of the year–where free chocolate and candy practically fall into your lap? Well, when a father passed around candy with a note to other passengers on a flight from Boston to San Francisco, even the grinch’s frozen heart would have melted.

Here’s what the note said:
“My three-year-old daughter, Molly, was bummed that she wouldn’t be able to go trick-or-treating this year due to this flight… so I decided to bring trick-or-treating to her. If you are willing, when my little donut comes down the aisle, please drop this in her basket. You’ll be making her Halloween! If you’re unwilling, no worries, just pass the treat back to me. Thanks so much!”

It’s so sweet, it hurts.

According to a passenger named Stephanie Kahn, who tweeted about the flight, Molly was dressed up as a donut and walked up to each passenger, saying “trick-or-treat” politely before accepting her candy.

“Everyone seemed to be really touched and excited to participate,” said Kahn. “It was a real heart warming moment.”

Whether or not this was Molly’s favourite Halloween, one thing’s for sure: her father knows a thing or two about good parenting.
