Gone are the days of hanging the poster version of your favourite celebrity on your bedroom wall. Now, thanks to social media, the chances of getting noticed by your famous crush are greater than ever –– the key is doing the right thing to go viral. While some people get tattoos, others recreate iconic photoshoots. At least, that’s the case for 19-year-old Phoenix photographer, Tori Bernal and her love for Spiderman star, Tom Holland.
Using GQ’s 2017 summer photospread with Holland as her inspiration, Bernal enlisted her mother and sister to help duplicate the “classic Californian poolside chic” shoot, only this time, she would be the model. The finished products were released on Bernal’s Instagram and Twitter, and if we’re being honest…the attention to detail is astounding!

In an interview with Teen Vogue, Bernal described what went on behind-the-scenes.
“It took a lot of careful planning,” she said. “I ordered a lot of the clothing off of Poshmark secondhand, and the blue suit was actually men’s pajamas. My mom helped me set up and took one of the photos. My sister helped me choose locations and take the other photos. Then she edited them to make sure they were perfect. It was a ton of teamwork!”
When asked what she would do if her photos reached Holland’s eyes, Bernal couldn’t contain her excitement.
“I would freak out if Tom noticed them!” she told Teen Vogue. “I would honestly tell [him] that I think we have a lot in common…We should be friends!”
Fortunately, dreams really do come true. With over 33,000 Instagram likes and almost 32,000 retweets, Bernal got to meet her neighbourhood friendly Spiderman yesterday.
Looks like a friendship-match made in heaven, if you ask us.
