Winter is here, as is the countdown to the upcoming fifth season of Game of Thrones. So as April 12 approaches, the idea of snuggling up on the couch under a warm blanket and reconnecting with Tyrion, Jon Snow, Daeny and the rest of the gang is pretty darned appealing.
Any good Stark — or Lannister, if that’s your cup of tea — knows that some of the best parts of the series are the trickery, plotting and totally random twists that keep us on the edge of our seats for 10 weeks each spring. Apparently filming those scenes keeps the actors on the edge of their seats too, except in a completely different way.
A second blooper reel (the first was released at the San Diego Comic-Con last July) has hit the Internet, and it features many of our favourite players dealing with enough stumbles, swears and sword mishaps to go around. We always wondered how no one ever fell on those rickety stairs in the castles. Turns out, they just edit all that stuff out. It makes sense — inserting a comical tumble in the middle of a monologue about revenge kind of slays the mood, doesn’t it?
Our favourite though is watching Emilia Clarke stumble through one of her many Daeny lines. If even the most regal and kick-ass of all the wannabe queens needs help every once in a while, well then that just makes us feel a teensy bit better about ourselves.
Check out the video for yourself, and while you’re at it, why not take a look at the first blooper reel below that as well?
Game of Thrones returns Sunday, April 12 to HBO Canada.
