Seeing skinny pop stars shake their ass(ets) in music videos is so 2013. At least that’s what a 286-pound Israeli man thinks.

31-year-old Gal Volinez of Tel Aviv edited himself into Britney Spears’ hit “Work B****.” Instead of seeing Spears strut her stuff, you can enjoy Volinez take the role of Brit’s body double. He aptly named it “HI Brit” and it’s pretty fabulous.

Volinez has received high praise for it (and over 1 million views), but he says it’s not just about entertaining people. He also wants viewers to think about how body image is portrayed in media.

I am an artist, my medium is video, and in my line of work I examine and re-examine the human body and its politics,” he said, speaking to the NY Daily News. “For me it is important to re-examine social taboos — what does it mean to be an accepted ‘pop star,’ and what is the correct look? What is the correct demeanor?”

Damn. That got deep quickly. But let’s look at it this way; it’s always hard to talk about these topics. His video has probably got people chatting about it, who normally never bring it up in their usual daily discourse.

If Volinez can keep making videos that entertain AND get people’s brains working, we’re all for it.
