We thoroughly research all the products we feature, and we honestly think they’re great. But just so you know, things you buy from links on this page may earn us a commission. All prices were accurate at publish time.

Hair tools. There are so many out there, it’s hard to keep track of what works, what doesn’t, and which ones are just gimmicky gadgets we’ll leave tucked away in our cabinets forever. But Amika’s High Tide Deep Waver is different. You want waves with minimum effort? Here’s your guy.

It’s so easy to use. Just put your hair in between the barrels, clamp down, hold and release. It’s also super lightweight, so you don’t get that achey arm pain that sometimes happens when you’ve been using a curling iron for too long (just us?). It’s not without it’s flaws. At $165, it’s not cheap, and while we found it much easier to use than a curling wand, it still takes time to go through all your strands, especially if you have thick hair. And though it’s called a “deep waver,” we think the waves are a little more on the mid-to-shallow end.

But just look at the beautiful styles it can create:

As for our own hair, after spending 20 minutes getting acquainted with the waver, we got more than a few hair compliments thrown our way. If you’re looking to splurge on a new hair tool that’s just as effective as it is easy to use, look no further.
