Some men probably don’t have a clue that their partner wears foundation. Heck, some gents aren’t aware foundation is makeup, and not just the base of a building or a charitable organization.

But a man named Daryl from Long Island, New York knows exactly what foundation is, and how applying the creamy makeup can totally change someone’s confidence for the better. Daryl’s wife, Jeannelle, has cutaneous lupus erythematosus, an autoimmune disease that comes with a handful of symptoms, including red, scaly, thick patches on the face, arms and neck. After trying a plethora of different cover-ups from various brands, Daryl says Jeannelle decided to give Fenty Beauty go. It worked.

“I would like to personally thank Rhianna [sic] with putting out a product that has helped my wife of 16 years regain some of her confidence and helped her with her reluctance to leave our home due to her skin imperfections,” Daryl wrote in a review posted to the Fenty Beauty website.

Rihanna’s cosmetic collection has been receiving rave reviews, especially for this inclusive new foundation line that offers a whopping 40 different hues for consumers to choose from. Not only that, but its long-wear formula is oil-free, so it won’t clog pores, and gives that super smooth, shine-free finish.

Daryl attached a few photos, one of him and Jeannelle heading out to celebrate their 16th wedding anniversary (above, right). Jeannelle, he says, was wearing the Fenty Beauty foundation (in hue #430), which she easily applied herself. Jeannelle looks oh-so radiant, like she’s channeling her inner Riri.

Daryl also attached a photo of Jeannelle make-up free (above, left) to compare the results.

“I hope this message reaches Rhianna [sic] so she knows how much she is helping the love of my life get through the struggle of her affliction,” he added.

Rihanna likely doesn’t read all of the beauty reviews on her site, but hopefully this heartwarming one from Daryl and Jeannelle makes it up to the woman in charge. You’ve got to imagine it’s this kind of praise that makes doing what she’s doing feel totally worth it.
