Just like a cop, this is one photo that commands your attention.

RCMP officer Steve Howlett and his bride Naomi planned to tie the knot in St. John’s Newfoundland, for quite a while. Before they arrived for their big day though, the couple learned that the RCMP’s Musical Ride would be in nearby Mount Pearl on the same date.

A volunteer effort, the musical ride is a show where officers get to display their finest horse-riding skills. And being an RCMP officer himself, Steve must’ve known it was too good to be true that it would be taking place on the same day as his wedding. That’s why he, along with the folks at Andrew Smith Photography, reached out to the ride’s officials to see if he could score the wedding photo of a lifetime.

“The members of the musical ride were great, so accommodating,” the couple’s wedding photographer Megan Smith wrote in an email. “We set up for the photo before the ride took place so to avoid all the chaos at the actual performance… We only had about 5 minutes, so we had to work very quickly!” Megan wrote.

We have to say, for five minutes, this photo couldn’t have turned out any better. It practically oozes Canada. It’s no surprise that the image has since been going wild on social media.

“I was just so happy that it all fell into place and I could capture it for them,” Megan wrote. “We are all very amazed at all the attention the photo is getting!”

Now that’s how you stand on guard for thee.
