Grab your giant coffee cups, break out a buzzworthy new hair ‘do, or plot out Friendsgiving a few months early. Whatever you need to do to celebrate the news that the Friends reunion is finally a go, know that you won’t be alone. Yup, after months of speculation—and even a bit of naysaying from one Ross Geller—it seems like the cast is now on board.Okay, so things aren’t 100 per cent official quite yet. But the deal is this close to coming through over at HBO Max, the upcoming streaming service that launches this May in the US.  Old Friends reruns were controversially pulled from Netflix to help anchor its lineup, and it's basically the reason the powers-that-be are hoping people subscribe. Getting a Friends reunion in place to help grab even more eyeballs has been a major goal. Well now Deadline reports that after some tough negotiations, the entire cast—Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry—have a deal in principle with Warner Bros. to do an hour-long unscripted reunion special. So what’s the price tag to get all six of the actors on board 25 years later? The publication also revealed the actors each nabbed a payday in the $3-4 million range, which really isn’t too shabby for a one hour special. To put that $20 million in perspective, that’s basically what Netflix pays top comedians like Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Ellen DeGeneres and Amy Schumer. So maybe the Friends cast is technically being underpaid? Regardless, this could be the “big news” that Matthew Perry has been hinting at on Twitter recently. Either that or he was alluding to the fact that he was about to join Instagram. That’s right, on the same day this reunion show news broke, Perry finally caved and became the final member of the cast to get on board the social media platform. He has yet to post, but would it BE any cooler if his first ‘gram was the reunion announcement? His 1.9 million-plus followers would certainly appreciate it.
