It’s a parenting nightmare: Kids, running around everyday hazards with no sense of caution. They’re young and carefree, so they reach for a knife block, for no apparent reason, or they’ll stand on wobbly chairs to reach cookies that are out of reach. They play fast and loose with their lives, and you can’t monitor them 24/7. So how do you ease your mind a little?

Well, you do that with adorable animals.

These cute, Japanese corner protectors ($8 at Amazon) put all other corner protectors to shame. Most of their ilk are quite, um, unattractive. But here, you have adorable froggies, bears and kitties to cover sharp edges. So, now your kids will associate those corners with good, cute times, not some lurking evil that could penetrate their eyes at a moment’s notice, leaving them temporarily blind (or at least bludgeoned and left with a black eye).

Safety doesn’t need to be dullsville. A kawaii set like this is going to teach your kids that knowing where to look can be fun.
