Say what you will about Victoria Beckham's stoneface as she arrived to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding Saturday -- the former Spice Girl insists she was thrilled for the happy couple.

“It was such a beautiful, incredible wedding. It was just the best day. They looked so happy, and everybody was just so happy for them," she tells the Evening Standard in her first interview since the event. "Meghan seems like a genuinely lovely woman, who really loves him. It felt very real, very honest.”

Beckham donned a navy midi dress with split sleeves from her own spring/summer 2019 collection.

And while some have noted she may not have looked super enthused as she arrived (ahem Piers Morgan), she was actually feeling great compared to Will and Kate's wedding. When she attended those nuptials in 2011 she was seven months pregnant with daughter Harper.

“Quite honestly, it was such a relief not to be hugely pregnant at this royal wedding that it was a joy to be able to choose anything I wanted to wear,” she says. Those who noted her dress this time around was similar to the one she wore to Will and Kate's wedding aren't completely wrong.

“I love a bit of navy,” she says. “The dress is one of my favourites: it isn’t in store until November, but we’ve had so many inquiries about it that I’m seeing whether I can bring it forward.”

She also gives her stamp of approval to Meghan's Givenchy dress.

“I thought she looked absolutely beautiful. It really suited her. I thought it was perfect for her. And Harry looked great," she says.

Putting to rest any talk of why she wasn't smiling next to her handsome husband David Beckham, Victoria reiterates she was happy to be there on such a monumental day.

“I wasn’t nervous, no. I was just really honoured to have been invited. I would have been nervous if it had been my day,” she says.
