Hello, ladies, we have caught a glimpse of what hair styles grown men will be sporting in 2016, and it’s, um, interesting. It’s a throwback of sorts, to what could be classified as “emo hair” or Hilary Swank, 2000. But instead of the razor-cut asymmetrical ‘dos of the past with side-swept bangs, there is significantly less volume for 2016. It’s sleeker. Here’s the possible origin of the new look:

We were privy to the future of dude hair at the 2016 Golden Globes, where Brad Pitt and Channing Tatum sported similar hair, with a touch of bang sitting aloft, then draping just so over the forehead.

We may never know the origin story of this new hair trend for grown men, but one thing is certain: The swooping look has a rich, storied past.
