Nope, Jesse Eisenberg isn’t getting his Walter White Halloween costume ready 7 months early. This menacing shot of the 31 year old actor looking extra evil and convincingly bald is a sneak peek at his portrayal of the iconic super-villain Lex Luthor in next year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Eisenberg is set to star as a young version of one of the most popular bad guys in comic book history in director Zack Snyder’s follow up to 2013’s Superman reboot Man of Steele. Eisenberg’s Luthor will battle it out against a returning Henry Cavill, as Superman, and Ben Affleck, who is making his heavily criticized big screen debut as Batman.
According to Snyder, Eisenberg’s portrayal of Luthor is going to be different from any other big screen version of the sinister baldy we’ve witnessed in the past. “He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure, other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course. Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.”
The film will also feature cameos from The Fast and Furious franchise vixen Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and former Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa as Aqua Man. The appearances should set up DC Comic’s 2017 superhero team-up flick The Justice League (DC’s answer to The Avengers.)
So we gotta ask, do you find evil Jesse believable?
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be in theatres March 25, 2016.
