For those who love eating but not baking cookies, there’s some delicious news.
It’s called CHiP, and it’s about to revolutionize the world of cookies. Okay, so it may not be revolutionary, but this sweet bit of tech via Kickstarter is definitely disrupting the world of the classically baked treat.
It’s like the George Foreman grill of the cookie baking world, only George Foreman isn’t endorsing it, and it works with an app that sends notifications to your smartphone, lets you order more dough and even start baking remotely.
Sounds too good to be true? Watch this:
The video gives us a glimpse at some of the 25 flavours being prepared by SideChef—the Nut Crunch Breakfast and Sugar-Free Protein Oatmeal sound like the kind of breakfast we can get behind, and we’re curious about the Chickpea Carob cookie, too. There are also gluten-free options, which many sweet tooth fiends will surely be pleased to hear.
The treats themselves come pre-packaged in little pods—sold in packs of four—not unlike that delicious single-serve espresso machine in the break room at your office.
According to the developers, CHiP always bakes its cookies to your definition of perfection, with customizable settings that take into account texture, aroma, warmth and freshness, by measuring the internal temperature throughout the baking process. And by working with the app, and a simple scan, bake, enjoy process, you can have a batch of your favourite flavour in less than 10 minutes.
Cookie technology FTW!
To date, the Kickstarter campaign has earned around $35,000 of its $100,000 goal, and there’s less than month to donate. That said, the creators seem hopeful that the target will be met—they expect to have the product available to Canadians in December of 2017.
So, you’ll have to forgive us these sickly sweet puns, but if they don’t make this thing happen, we’re gonna
ginger snap and have a massive chocolate chip on our shoulder for the rest of time. Just sayin.
