What’s the difference between being labelled a ‘prankster’ and a ‘criminal’? For entertainment personality Vitalii Sediuk, that line is becoming increasingly blurred.
The Ukrainian reporter has a long history of getting a little too close for comfort to a number of high profile American celebrities. In 2011, he started his celeb prankings with a light joke, handing Madonna a bouquet of hydrangeas at the Venice Film Festival after she has expressed her dislike of the flowers.
Sediuk upped the ante in 2012, trying to kiss Will Smith during a red carpet interview for the film Men In Black III. The prank resulted in a slap from Smith.
In 2013, Sediuk began his long run of rushing award show stages, interrupting Adele’s winning speech at the Grammy’s for Best Solo Performance. It was a move that resulted in Sediuk receiving a six-month suspended sentence, but didn’t deter him from trying to sneak into the Oscars later that year.
In 2014, Sediuk ‘pranked’ Bradley Cooper and Leonardo DiCaprio at two separate events, grabbing Coopers legs on the red carpet and putting his face into DiCaprio’s groin. That same year, Sediuk rushed Brad Pitt at the LA premiere of Maleficent, breaking the actor’s glasses and prompting Pitt to file a restraining order.
Sediuk’s ‘pranks’ continued to escalate, crawling under America Ferrera’s dress at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014, scarring the actress in an act that could (should?) be deemed sexual assault.
But, red carpets aren’t the only place the TV personality has accosted celebs. He streaked the Prabal Gurung New York Fashion Week show in 2014 and the next year, snuck up behind Miranda Kerr at the Louis Vuitton show in Paris and kissed the model.
This week, Sediuk targeted Kim Kardashian West for the second time in two years, trying to kiss her butt as the TV star was entering a Paris restaurant. Thankfully, her bodyguards caught Sediuk in time and Kardashian West has filed a complaint with the French authorities, with the event caught on video by her makeup artist.
Last week, Sediuk was again in the news after forcefully picking up model Gigi Hadid outside a Milan fashion show, with Hadid fighting back and thankfully leaving the scene physically unharmed. It’s shocking that being caught on video grabbing a person against their will while a large number of people look on has not resulted in Sediuk’s arrest, which begs the concerning question, what will it take for him to face jail time?
Thanked my boxing coach today.

Calling yourself a prankster shouldn’t be a free pass to touch a person, celebrity or not, in an unwanted way.
If there was any question over whether Sediuk recognizes that his actions have a negative effect on the celebrities he accosts, here is a picture of him doing community service while wearing a t-shirt with Brad Pitt’s face. So, no.
