Not since the slimes of yore (think You Can’t Do That on Television and Ghostbusters) have we been so fascinated with goop. And no, we’re not talking about Gwyneth Paltrow.

Sugru is basically play-dough for adults. It’s sculpt-able goo that’s malleable like clay, but it will bond to almost any material. Also, it hardens into rubber in 24 hours, and all it needs is air. Like, the kind you breathe!

It’s pretty unique stuff, and it is the kind of fix-all trick that you’ll want to show your friends (and give to your friends). Seriously, it works in the freezer and it works in a hot shower. You can even wrap it around frayed wires so they’ll last longer (or just wrap it around new cables or adapters right away, so you never even have to think about it).

You can even use it to “hack” everyday products, like shears or pencils–a bit of Sugru turns into comfort grips after hardening for all of your favourite tools. Pretty soon ‘Sugru’ will be a verb, because it is that useful.

Who it’s for

Don’t feed it to your children. Otherwise, this is basically for everyone.

How much?

$17 – $20.

Where to find it

Available at Sugru.

‘Tis the season to be jolly (and a bit stressed from shopping, list-making, cooking and more shopping). But don’t get yourself too worked up, because we’re here to help you cross those names off your list one day at a time, one gift at a time. From now through Christmas Eve, we’re wrapping up daily gift ideas, so you can get back to more important festive pursuits, you know, like drinking eggnog. We’re going to make this so easy, you’ll want to shop this way every year.
