Meghan Markle has always been an outspoken woman, but ever since she became involved with Prince Harry, she’s had to reel in her opinions. Because while members of the British Royal Family are very much in the public eye, they can’t publicly be themselves. There’s a standard to which they are held, and staid and proper is much more preferred than lively and vivacious.

Now that Meghan is the Duchess of Sussex we’ll have to get used to her as a staid and proper royal we guess, but we can still enjoy her bubbly personality via Suits reruns and TV interviews that she has done.

Before James Corden took over The Late Late Show in 2015, comedian Craig Ferguson was the host for a decade. And during his 10-year run, our Meghan was a guest. Since we might never see this kind of free-spirited behaviour from our Megs again, we figured we would dust off this 2013 appearance in which she proved just how awesome and fun she is.

While many have called Ferguson out for his creepiness (touching Meghan’s arm, talking about her hair-free body, musing about what it was like for her in her school uniform), it was a much different time than now where his behaviour, comments and interruptions would no longer fly. But enough about Craig. Let’s focus on Meghan.

She deftly handled all his questions and comments with ease, was charming as hell, spoke fondly of her dad and looked as beautiful then as she does now. If given free reign to chat openly, we’d love to see this kind of personality — from her and any of the other royals. Can you imagine if Harry or Will or Kate did an interview that was this entertaining? Some might find it shocking, but we’d love it. Showing off something we don’t ever see, their real personalities? Now that would be amazing. No awkward pauses here.
