I’m a firm believer that skincare is the one area of beauty that is worth the splurge. And considering the results you can get with Canadian skincare line Veriphy, this line might be a worth that investment. Started by women in STEM, Veriphy’s star ingredient is PhytoSpherix. What is PhytoSpherix, you ask? Also known as Phytoglycogen, it’s a form of glycogen derived completely from plants.
Glycogen is found in every cell and can be broken down to release energy whenever required; it’s the main source of fuel for our cells. When applied topically, it works similarly to energize the skin, improving “overall skin health and production of elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid.” Which, if we’re being honest, sounds just like every other skincare claim out there. So, is PhytySpherix really that remarkable? Here are some before and after photos of skin treated with PhytoSpherix cream over the course of six weeks.

Overall skin appearance
The line currently consists of an eye cream, serum and moisturizer, each promising a revitalized and rejuvenated complexion. Lead formulator Jessica Kizovski says the best compliment she’s received about Veriphy was from a woman who said that since using the products, she no longer has to wear under-eye concealer. While my own results weren’t quite as dramatic, they were enough to get me reaching for the products on my shelf nightly (and as a beauty junkie, I have a lot of options).
But what I really love about the brand? It’s 100 per cent cruelty free and committed to empowering women in STEM fields. In fact, they even established the Veriphy Skincare Award for Women in STEM, a scholarship in conjunction with the University of Guelph — where PhytoSpherix was discovered.
