If this is a sign of the times, we don’t think we can handle it. Australian singer Kelsy Karter really, really, really likes Harry Styles and wanted to prove it by getting a tattoo. And not just any tattoo, but a portrait of Styles. And not just anywhere on her body, on her right cheek. And not her right butt cheek, her face. That’s right. Harry’s face is now on Kelsy’s face and, yes, this is what an extreme fan is willing to do.

mama, look what i made me do

Kids, she chose to do this. The 25-year-old (you read that right, she’s not a teenage, brain-still-developing ingenue) actually thought this was a good idea. Kelsy gave the thumbs up to the stencil ON HER FACE and then allowed the tattoo artist to put the needle ON HER FACE and then keep going until it was completed. There wasn’t a gun to her head or anything!

Karter captioned the photos, “mama, look what i made me do,” and Honey, no. Just, no. And we should acknowledge the giant, looming elephant in the tattoo parlour because if you’re like us, your first thought wasn’t actually, “What was she thinking?” but rather, “Damn. That rendering of Harry isn’t even that good.” If anything, it looks like a 16-year-old Styles that just got his wisdom teeth removed so, needless to say, not good. (No offence, Harry.)

Aside from the closeup of her face, Kelsy also posted a pic of the tattoo artist who did this to her. His name is Romeo Lacoste, and he’s inked other celebrities including Ariana Grande and Kendrick Lamar, both of whom have made better, less questionable choices than Karter. And if Lacoste’s Instagram account is any indication, even he knows the Harry Styles portrait isn’t his best work because it’s nowhere to be found on his pages. Yet.

If Kelsy’s plan was to get some free publicity for her new song, the aptly titled “Harry,” she got it. But there are better, easier, less permanent ways to achieve that. Making Post Malone’s face tats look good isn’t one of them.

Who knows, Kelsy could just be trolling us and we’re falling right into her fake tattoo/free promo trap. For her sake, we really hope it’s that.
