Everyone has some sort of skeleton in the closet…and anyone who’s ever been on the popular dating app Tinder, in all likelihood, has a bunch of skeletons in that particular closet.
Bad news, because this is happening: Swipe Buster is a new online app that, for $4.99, can tell you if and when your latest infatuation used Tinder.
Let us be the first to say that this is SERIOUS potential trouble for everyone who has ever used the app and probably a lot of people who haven’t. As the site describes, simply input who you want to creep and where you think they last Tinder’d, and the app will tell you “if and when they were swiping.”
The man behind the site claims its sole purpose is to make
money people aware of how much user information apps like Tinder are making publicly available. And let’s just say we’ve tested the app, it works, and it’s got a lot of information. Like, creepy amounts.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, the app’s creator said that once Tinder tightens security on the API (that’s application programming interface, for all us non-techies) and all its users information, Swipe Buster will bust itself and cease to exist.
So, on behalf of swipers everywhere, please, please hurry Tinder.
