Sheet masks are so wonderful. Seriously, nothing is easier. You tear open the little envelope, you take out the saturated sheet mask, and then you unfold it, drape it on your face and just chill the f!@# out. It’s the perfect beauty treat, and they’re super-affordable most of the time.
The one downside is, sometimes they can take a while to work their magic. So, if you don’t have the time, but want the feeling of wearing one, then, where do you turn? Well, you don’t have to wear one outside, en route to a meeting. We stumbled upon Patchology, a company out of the United States that makes a sheet mask called “Flash Masque,” and its technology helps your skin absorb the serums quickly. In five minutes.
That’s because Patchology, as a company, has its roots in the medical field. The company has developed patches for basically anything you can think of, from hormone therapy to quitting smoking. And they’re planning to make more patches for pretty much anything you can think of. So, when making its foray into beauty, it wanted to bring something to the market that didn’t exist, and that’s how they came up with the 5-minute mask.
It works so quickly because of the brand’s HydraSurge5™ technology (we’re told by Patchology that it literally “pushes the product into your skin”), which it developed in-house, and then tested on 100 people. According to their study, 98 per cent felt their skin was not optimally illuminated before using the mask, 96 per cent said it boosted vibrancy and 95 per cent said skin looked balanced, radiant and revitalized.
We tried it, and it totally works. It feels nice on your skin, it actually stays on your skin (you can actually shape it to the curves in your face just by pressing into them) and your skin totally looks refreshed afterwards. And it’s only $9 each for Illuminate (licorice and grapefruit seed extracts), Hydrate (Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin B5) and Exfoliate (Lactic Acid and Papain).
And you might look a little scary with it on, but oh boy does it feel sexy.
