Watching a line of strangers make their way down the aisle of a plane can be stressful. Wondering whether you’re going to sit next to someone who snores, who hogs all the overhead space, or the dreaded loudly drunk passenger can be enough to make you want to buy an entire row for yourself. But getting seated next to a celebrity without even paying for first class? That’s what happened to one woman, who found herself sharing an armrest with Oscar-nominee and all-around supercool dude Timothée Chalamet. We’re already booking our next flight.

Twitter user Alankrutha boarded a three-hour flight on Monday and quickly recognized the ‘tall, lanky dude’ in front of her wearing a hoody.

Naturally, Alankrutha tried to confirm her suspicions that the lanky dude was in fact Timothée by sending her friends a group text and pulling up the soundtrack to Call Me By Your Name (side note, “Mystery of Love” and “Visions of Gideon” are stunning songs).

Alankrutha made it a whole 30 minutes into the flight before confirming her suspicions, which to us shows great restraint.

Finally, she called the actor out on his sly response.

We’re still not processing.

Alankrutha then proceeded to do a mini-interview, which considering her love of gifs from The Office feels like a missed opportunity for this.

Proving that she’s a true fan, Alankrutha proceeded to pepper the actor with more questions and thoughts, including the very true observation that his Lady Bird character is, in fact, a D bag.

Proving that he is an incredible actor and not at all a D bag, Timothée asked Alankrutha about herself and pronounced her name correctly, which seems like a little thing, but it is definitely not.

The pair discussed The Office at length, which does sound like a dream, and Chalamet even offered to call his Beautiful Boy co-star Michael Scott, who also goes by the name Steve Carell. But it’s Michael Scott. Michael Scarn at the most.

Timothée asked whether Alankrutha wanted to pose for a picture, which, if you’ve ever had to work up the nerve to ask a celeb for a selfie, is a super nice gesture because OMG awkward.

Photo evidence of our new favourite friendship.

They say to never meet your heroes, but if your hero is Timothée Chalamet, then definitely say hello, because this guy sounds awesome.

Well played, Alankrutha. You are the hero we need.
