If you’ve never heard of Waardenburg Syndrome, you wouldn’t be alone. It’s a rare genetic condition, and one YouTuber has been living with it since she was born. The condition causes those with it to have wider-set facial features, hearing loss, and pigmentation loss in hair, skin and eyes.

In 2015, Stef Sanjati took to her YouTube channel to talk about the condition for the first time. Nearly 10-million views later, it’s still one of her most popular videos.

That video helped launch her YouTube career, where she mostly focuses on the importance of self-acceptance, as well as beauty tutorials. She’s also a member of the trans community and she’ll often post educational videos about and for her community.

In the video clip above, Stef sat down with us to talk about Waardenburg Syndrome and why she’s encouraging others to embrace and celebrate what makes you different. You can watch the entire conversation in the video clip above.
