Just because the royal wedding is over doesn’t mean that Meghan‘s dad, Thomas Markle, is going to stop talking. And, yes, you can say that TMZ won’t leave him alone but he also doesn’t have to engage. He can walk away and ignore them but, instead, he responds to their relentless questions, thus resuscitating his presence. The latest? Thomas says he has never asked his daughter for money despite reports that indicate otherwise.
“Just plain bullsh*t” is what Thomas calls the rumours. He told TMZ that he and Meghan never discuss the topic of money. He has a “decent retirement fund” and “doesn’t need his daughter’s help when it comes to money.” Though it should be noted that he added that if he did, he knows Meghan would “help him out.”
Hmm, there’s two ways to look at that. There’s the, aw, that’s so sweet reaction. See, Meghan and Thomas DO have a great relationship, she’s there for him, he’s there for her and all is fine with them. But then there’s the more disillusioned, cynical side that can only think: Ugh, he’s totally going to ask for her help in a financial capacity one day will probably try to cash in soon.
If you’re wondering how Thomas is doing health-wise, he informed TMZ that he’s best getting a lot of rest since his heart surgery and will be going to his two-week follow-up appointment next week. Technically, that’ll be three weeks since it happened–days before the wedding but, hey, who’s counting? As for Thomas, we’re sure we’ll hear from him again, next week, when TMZ stakes out his doctor’s office to find out his results.
