DIY gifts get a bit of a bad rap. Sure, they’re unique and they come from the heart, but it’s hard to escape that nagging feeling that they’re just a bit of a cop-out (especially if the final product is a bit — how to put it delicately? — sub par). But now the good news: that doesn’t always have to be the case. With the right idea, a DIY gift can be all kinds of amazing, and these recipes are the irrefutable (and delicious) proof.

Chocolate-Dipped Pretzels

What you need

  • White melting chocolate
  • Pretzel rods
  • Crushed candy cane

What you do

  1. Melt the white chocolate in the microwave and stir to combine.
  2. Coat the top two thirds of each pretzel rod in the melted chocolate.
  3. Sprinkle the crushed candy cane over the chocolate.
  4. Let cool in the fridge.
