Ah, Paris. Home to amour (that’s love), the Eiffel Tower (the big tourist attraction everybody goes to) and some of the best food you’ll ever eat in your life (like, everything). One of our favourites: crepes that you can procure on the street. Stuffed with savoury or sweet fillings of your choosing, this simple delicacy is enough to send anybody with with even a basic appreciation of food into sweet, sweet ecstasy.
Except you’re not in Paris. You’re at home. And all you’ve got is white bread.
But all is not lost! Because if you’ve got white bread, you’ve got the humble beginnnings of a delicious roll-up that you can fill with any combination of fillings. Like a riff on French toast, stuffed with in-season strawberries and topped with whipped cream. Or if a savoury meal is more your thing, a grilled cheese with ooey-gooey cheese of your choice. Rather nosh on dessert? Stuff’em with marshmallows and chocolate chips, then roll’em in Graham cracker crumbs for a twist on a summer favourite.
