One of the hottest places in the summer is inside your car after you’ve left it parked. The sun just scorches the interior, leaving it feeling like you’re sitting on hot coals. It’s uncomfortable, it burns and it’s not fun for anyone. Not you, not your pets and certainly not a professional NFL player. But you can change the fire from within with a bunch of simple tricks.

For example, did you know that if you turn your wheel when parking your car, the top bit will be left unexposed to the sun? That means, when you get back in, and turn the wheel to drive, it won’t burn. Or how about that disgusting hot air that just builds up while you’re running your errands? Getting rid of it is as simple as fanning it out with one of your doors. So simple, but who knew? Also, that gear shift can get mighty hot. But not if you put a koozie on it! People are basically going to look at you and say, “hey there’s that person without scorched palms! I want to be like her some day!”

It all sounds simple, and that’s because it is. Once you get into the habit of doing these things on the regular, you’ll wonder how you ever managed without these tricks. Watch the video above to see how you can prevent a car sauna from ruining your hands and your life. Your new life without a hot car should look something like this:
