When you think of Donald Trump‘s children, it’s a pretty safe bet that Tiffany Trump is the last Trump offspring to come to mind. Tiffany stays pretty well away from politics since she’s a law student at Georgetown and doesn’t have time to do the job of President Whisperer (looking at you, Jarvanka) but maybe we counted Tiff out of the political arena too soon.

Tuesday night, at the president’s 2019 State of the Union address, Tiffany may have been waving her resistance flag with her outfit choice. She attended the event in an all-white ensemble, matching the Democratic women who were all wearing white as a political statement.

Ahead of the speech, the House Democratic Women’s Working Group asked the women of congress to wear “suffragette white” as a “respectful message of solidarity with women across the country, and a declaration that we will not go back on our hard-earned rights.” The statement was about progress but was also a dig at the Trump Administration which has infringed on women’s rights in several respects over the past two years.

The result was a sea of white-clad women who looked particularly fantastic when Trump mentioned that the current Congress has more women than ever before in U.S. history. He failed to mention that most of them aren’t Republican, but hey, what did you expect?

Melania and Ivanka Trump both pointedly wore black Tuesday night, making Tiffany’s outfit choice all the more interesting. It’s possible the Trump daughter just liked the shirt and skirt combo (and check out that statement belt!), but wearing an entirely white outfit in the middle of winter to an event where white has clear political implications? If it was a coincidence, it’s a far-fetched one.

Interestingly, Donald Trump Jr.‘s girlfriend, former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle, also chose an all-white ensemble for the SOTU. She didn’t mention the reasoning behind her choice but Guilfoyle is very clear about her support of Donald Trump and called the address a “grand slam” so the dress was more likely a poorly-timed personal choice than a thinly-veiled political statement.

Tiffany hasn’t spoken out about her outfit either (and we don’t really expect her to) but it’s fun to speculate that Trump’s youngest daughter (who rarely shares explicit political views) secretly shares Democratic values.

Or she just likes wearing white.
